The Twitter gadget featured in the gadget directory is currently displaying incorrect data. We're working to correct the problem, but in the meantime we recommend instead using the Feed gadget with your Twitter feed URL.

The Feed gadget can be added from the Layout | Page Elements tab, and your Twitter feed URL is available on your Twitter profile by clicking the RSS feed of [username's] tweets link.

Thanks for your patience.

Some users are seeing a bX-lhziiw exception when attempting to moderate comments from the dashboard; we're investigating this right now and will report back with an update shortly.

Update, 10:05AM: This is fixed.

We've identified a third-party widget called BlogLinker to actually be malware, and have temporarily disabled the blogs containing the script in their template.

Thanks for your patience.

A small percentage of Blogger users have experienced error messages this afternoon as the result of what appears to be an ongoing distributed denial of service attack aimed at multiple services across the web. Google has a variety of systems in place to help counteract these types of attacks, and we believe the majority of affected users can now access their blogs. We're continuing to work to minimize the impact to affected Blogger users. No other Google products have been affected.

We've restored the small number of accounts which were disabled over the weekend, so you should be able to login to Blogger.com without a problem. We apologize for the inconvenience as we continually work to improve our spam detection.

From the dashboard, you may also restore access to non-spammy blogs which were inadvertently affected by this issue.

Some users are experiencing problems with missing Followers on their own blogs, as well as others. We're aware of the problem, and ask for your patience as we investigate.

We've created a form to gather more information on this issue, and could use your help if you have a moment to fill it out. Thanks in advance.

Some Safari users attempting to comment on blogs with the embedded form are seeing a "Your request could not be processed. Please try again" message as the comment fails to post. However, posting is usually successful if attempted the second time.

We're looking into this and apologize for the inconvenience.

Searching from the navbar is currently returning incomplete data for some users. We're investigating our search functionality and will hopefully have a fix out shortly.

As a workaround, you can use search operators on Google.com to search for content specifically on your blog. For example:

site:yourblog.blogspot.com KEYWORD KEYWORD

Currently the Edit posts list maxes out at 5000 posts, which could make some older posts inaccessible for editing. We're working on a fix, and appreciate your patience in the meantime.

Blogger Play is currently unavailable. We're looking into the problem and hope to have it resolved soon.

Thanks for your patience.

The word verification (CAPTCHA) image is currently mis-aligned for classic template blogs using the embedded image form, and in some cases unreadable. We're investigating this and will reaply with an update shortly.

In the meantime, you can switch your form to either 'Full Page' or 'Pop-up' to properly display the word verification.

Some users exporting larger blogs (> 10MB) have reported missing or incomplete blog data in the resulting export file.

We're currently investigating this, and appreciate your patience while we work on a fix.

Some users are seeing bX errors when trying to view their blog. We're currently investigating this and hope to have a fix out shortly. We'll update this post with information when we have more to share.

The Profile Browsing feature is currently not returning results when clicking through to certain items on a Blogger profile page. We're investigating and will report back with an update from our end shortly.

Thanks for your patience.

Some users who use Blogger's classic templates are seeing javascript inserted into the <title> elements of their pages. This results when users have modified the standard templates and have inserted the <blogger> and </blogger> tags into their <title> elements.

If your blog is affected, go to "Template", then click on "Edit HTML". Remove anything between <title> and </title> in your template, and replace it with this:

<$BlogPageTitle$>

We are looking at the feasability of adjusting our code to be sensitive to cases where the template has <blogger> tags inserted in the <title>, but for now please use the above work-around to eliminate the javascript code from your blog's page titles.

Friend Connect is experiencing degraded performance this morning which is affecting many Blogger blogs. This results in several known issues:

  • Your Blogger dashboard will report you are not following any blogs.
  • Recently created blogs will see an error in their Followers gadget which indicates "Community not found".
  • Managing followers from your Blogger dashboard is currently not working.
  • Adding social gadgets to your site will generate an error when the gadget attempts to display a preview, and you will not be able to complete adding the gadget.
  • Following a site by entering the URL into your Blogger dashboard will not work.
The Friend Connect team is aware of the issues and is working on fixes. Your followed blogs will return to your dashboard when Friend Connect operation resumes. We apologize for the disruption.

We will update this post when a fix has been made.

Some users are reporting failed logins when publishing via FTP. We are investigating.

Update: After considerable debugging, we believe this is isolated to no more than a few dozen accounts. We have discovered several web hosts who appear to be throttling login attempts from unknown IP addresses; please verify with your web host that Blogger's IP addresses are whitelisted. If you continue to see problems, please report them in the Help Forum and we will research the issue further.

Update: This has been fixed.

A small number of blogs are seeing errors on their blogs due to broken gadgets. We are fixing this issue. As a workaround, removing broken gadgets in the layout should fix the issue.

Adding the profile gadget from the Layout | Page Elements tab currently returns a bX-jn3okz error. We are looking into this and hope to have it resolved shortly.

Thanks for your patience.

Some blogs are seeing a new post that says "eeyore is cute!"

We are identifying the cause of the problem and are working on a fix.

Update: During routine testing, a bug caused a small number of FTP blogs to publish a test post. No systems or accounts were hacked. We have corrected the original bug, and are working to remove the test data from the blogs. In the meantime, republishing your FTP blog will also correct the problem. We apologize to those bloggers who were affected - we are looking at mechanisms to prevent similar occurrences in the future.

Note: Some users with non-FTP blogs who have opted to receive post confirmation emails may have seen a spurious email about a test "eeyore is cute!" post. This email can safely be ignored.

Update: This is now fixed.

Currently, when viewing a blog's Followers from your dashboard, the Invite your friends link will return an error when clicked.

You can still however invite your friends directly from the gadget on your blog.

Friend Connect integration issues:

  • Currently the Friend Connect settings page will display in the same language as the blog hosting it. We are working on a fix to have this page reflect your default Blogger.com language.
  • Following a blog with the 'Add from URL' feature in your dashboard currently doesn't work with the eight Indic languages. We should have this resolved shortly once we get the proper translations, however you can still follow a blog directly if the gadget is enabled.
  • Some users with a rectangular Blogger profile image may notice size distortions in Friend Connect. We are working on a fix.
  • Following doesn't currently work if you have an iGoogle gadget in your layout. We're working on a fix, but in the meantime you can remove any iGoogle gadgets from the Layouts | Page Elements tab.

The word verification form is currently failing to load for some users. As a temporary workaround, you can disable word verification from the Settings | Comments tab.

We are in the process of integrating with Google Friend Connect, which may temporarily affect the Following feature for some users. Specifically, users who already use Following and Friend Connect may notice missing blogs in their profile, as well as a decrease in the number of public Followers on their blogs.

This is because
we have set these users to "anonymous" to avoid linking the profiles of Blogger and Friend Connect users without their permission. They are still following privately and will able to make themselves public again.

After the official launch of the Friend Connect integration, we will communicate with the affected users and instruct them how to reset their relationship to public. To reiterate: the number of Followers has not changed, and we believe that the launch will improve the visibility of your blog and community. We will post more details on Blogger Buzz as the launch approaches.

Some users have reported missing posts on the main page of their blog. We are looking into this and hope to have a fix out shortly.

As a workaround, create a new blank post and save it as a draft. This should reset your cache and display the missing posts.

Search results from the navbar and the Search Box gadget are currently unreliable for some users.

We apologize for the inconvenience, and hope to have it fixed shortly.

Popup dialogs are currently broken when editing a post on Blogger in Draft. We are working to fix the issue. In the meantime, please create and edit your posts via Blogger's non-experimental interface at www.blogger.com.
